"Many non-performing songwriters believe that singers tend to write their own songs out of greed, and they resent it."

This statement is really laughable, isn't it?

Nashville can be quite bizarre. They are an isolated community of music folk who don't really seem to grasp the more sophisticated issues.

Forcing artists to let someone else write their music is like telling an author that they're not allowed to write every chapter in their book; some of it must be written by someone else. How strange and invasive does that sound?

"Greedy?" Are you kidding me? So Bob Dylan, The Beatles, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Nirvana, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, just to name a few, are greedy?
