American Songwriter went on location at the historical Sloss Furnace in Birmingham, Alabama, for this issue’s Wilco cover shoot with photographer Jonathan Purvis. A metalworker’s bliss, this complex was a maze of towering smokestacks, forgotten hallways and haunted tunnels; a perfect setting which made for a successful (and fun) day of exploring and taking photos with Wilco.
