Taylor Swift Rules American Music Awards
On Sunday night, Taylor Swift dominated the 2009 American Music Awards, where she won five prizes, including Artist of the Year; her 2008 best-selling album, Fearless, was named Favorite Country Album. Swift, who demurely said “music has never been ultimately about competition,” also took home awards for Favorite Female Artist in both the pop/rock and country categories.
And to prove she’s a hit in any genre, the 19 year-old dynamo also picked up the award for Favorite Adult-Contemporary Artist. In your face, Barry Manilow!
In other country music news, Rascall Flatts was named Favorite Country Group for the fourth straight year.
