There’s a warning sign on the road ahead, there’s a lot of people saying we’d be better of dead…

With his longtime commitment to the environment, it comes as no surprise that Neil Young has been deeply affected by the BP oil spill currently fouling up the ecosystem in the Gulf Coast. The grunge godfather has announced a third leg of his Twistedd Road solo tour, this time concentrating on the states that have been hit the hardest.

“I am looking forward to playing Florida and the Gulf Coast,” wrote Neil Young in a post on his web site. Only one date, a September 23rd show at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, has been announced so far.

Young recently took to Facebook to write that he’s been wanting to revise the song “Vampire Blues,” which, as Rolling Stone points out, features the following lyrics: I’m a vampire, baby, suckin’ blood from the earth/Well, I’m a vampire, babe, sell you 20 barrels worth.”

Meanwhile, Jimmy Buffett will hold a free concert for a potential audience of 200,000 on July 1 on the beach at Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown will also perform as special guests, and CMT will air a live broadcast at 7 p.m. and stream video of the show on CMT.com.
