Belle and Sebastian Encourage Fans To “Write About Love”

The indie pop band Belle and Sebastian have announced that their website that their upcoming album will be titled Write About Love, and their label, Rough Trade Records, is holding a contest inspired by the album cover’s artwork.

The band’s lead singer and songwriter Stuart Murdoch photographed Kim from Zoey Van Goey as she wrote the album’s title in chalk at various sites around Glasgow, Scotland for the album cover.

Now the fans get a chance to let their artistic side run free. Rough Trade Records is asking for submissions of pictures or footage of fans writing “Belle and Sebastian Write About Love” or “Write About Love” somewhere in their own town, the more creative locale, the better. Artwork will be displayed on the band’s Flickr group, while the favorite entries will be awarded with a trophy.

Give it a try, and see what you can come up with. Once you have successfully “written about love,” you can upload them on the band’s Flickr page and see the artistic creations of others.
