No pigeon will get the best of the Kings of Leon. The band’s publicist announced Wednesday that the make-up date for ill-fated St. Louis show will be September 25th at the Verizon Amphitheater.
Back in late July, the Kings of Leon canceled their concert after a flock of pigeons let lose a deluge of bird droppings on the band while on stage.
Bassist Jared Followill told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, “as soon as what happened happened, we knew we were going to come back.”
Tickets will also be sold for $10 and the band will not be taking a fee. Instead they will be dividing the cost of the show with Live Nation, the concert promoter.
According to Followill, the band’s management was primarily responsible for the July show’s cancellation. “They were worried about our health and safety,” Followill said. “After 30 songs, I would’ve been covered. It was disgusting.”
In other news, Followill told the NME that the band has turned down an offer to appear on the hit TV series Glee, which has roped in Britney Spears and Susan Boyle.
“We could have sold out so much more,” said the bassist. “We turn stuff down constantly.”
