Phosphorescent, the band of Brooklyn bros who play that woozy, slightly city-fied country music, have just dropped a video for “It’s Hard To Be Humble When You’re From Alabama,” the lead song off their new album, Here’s To Taking It Easy. The video was directed by Natalie Johns of Dig For Fire TV, and was shot in what looks to be, unsurprisingly, various hip locations in Brooklyn, New York.
Matthew and the boys can be seen canoodling on a boat on the East River, hanging on the grimy streets of industrial downtown Brooklyn, and playing a waterfront show with the Manhattan skyline in the distance. Shots of Phosphorescent’s raw and moving live performances are interwoven with the candid scenes.
Towards the end of the video, Houck jumps on his Honda with a woman we’ve only seen glimpses of throughout the video. Who’s this mysterious woman in the new Phosphorescent video? Could it be Amanda from “The Mermaid’s Parade”?
