Watch Robert Plant’s New Video: “Angel Dance”

Videos by American Songwriter

Robert Plant is back for more with his first release since the critically acclaimed smash-hit, Raising Sand, debuting the video for his new single, “Angel Dance,” from his upcoming album Band Of Joy. The song has been the #1 most-added track at Triple A radio two weeks running, and over at Rollingstone.com, it’s become the most listened-to track in the website’s history.

Directed by Vincent Haycock, the video focuses more on capturing a small world than on pushing any cohesive narrative. Shots of Plant riding in his car are interspersed with slices of life from a Hispanic community in Chicago. A kid in a Mohawk punches at the camera. A woman tries on her wedding dress. A small boy makes his own soccer goal. The bluegrass bounce of the track is matched by the exuberance of the cuts between scenes, giving the video the feeling of a nice, hot Sunday afternoon in the summer where there’s nothing to do except kick back and enjoy. Press play and do so immediately.
