Lil Wayne Drops Super Bowl Anthem

Videos by American Songwriter

As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, the question of fan support arises. Will you choose to cheer with the Cheeseheads, or go black and yellow with the Steelers? For Little Wayne, the answer can be found in his latest rap, “Green and Yellow.” The notorious rapper declared himself a Cheesehead Thursday, a move that instantly catapulted his status within the Packer community.

In response to Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa’s hit “Black and Yellow,” Lil Wayne wrote “Green and Yellow” as a dedication to the Super Bowl contenders. “I put it down, representin’ for my team/ I’m in green and yellow, green and yellow,” declares the New Orleans native. You can listen to the song here.

And what will Wayne do if the Packers win? Just look to his song for the answer. “And if we win, I’mma throw a Super Bowl party/And blow a cigar like Vince Lombardi.” That may be a party Packer fans will not want to miss.
