Country music icon Alan Jackson and Capitol Records Nashville are joining forces for the next phase of Jackson’s career. Jackson’s music will now be released on joint labels, ACR (Alan’s Country Records) and Capitol/EMI Records Nashville. Marketing efforts will also be channeled through Capitol/EMI instead of his home label.

“I’m happy to be joining the hottest label in Nashville, ” says Jackson, adding that he and label head Mike Dungan go way back. “He was right there during my early days at Arista, and it’s going to be great to work with him and his team there at Capitol.”

Jackson, who sold 60 million records worldwide and has had 50 Top 10 hits, has become an esteemed role model for the industry. Among his many accolades, Jackson is beneficiary to three CMA Entertainer of the Year awards, two Grammy honors, and the ASCAP Founder’s Award.

Capitol Records Nashville was named best label by Billboard, Country Aircheck, Music Row and the Country Radio Seminar for both 2009 and 2010, and continues to woo industry folk with its other half, EMI, housing global superstars themselves.

“Everyone here at Capitol/EMI is beyond thrilled to represent Alan Jackson,” says Dungan. “A true American original, a future Hall of Famer, and an artist whose work to date is not only commercially successful, but is of historical cultural significance. We are honored, and we are jacked!”

Jackson will be heading into the studio soon to record the followup to 2005’s Precious Memories.
