Futurebirds Drop New EP, Prep For SXSW

Videos by American Songwriter

Futurebirds are a great band out of Athens, Georgia who’ve toured with Drive-By Truckers, Dead Confederate and Jonny Corndawg, and draw their influences from The Band, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and The Stanley Brothers.

We’ve got a brand new Futurebirds track, “Millstones,” for you to hear, off their forthcoming EP, Via Flamina, out April 1.

The new EP will be followed with the emergence of the original, remastered Futurebirds EP, which will be released digitally by  Autumn Tone on 4/19 and on 150gm vinyl by Athens’ Holy Owned Subsidiary. Only 400 copies will be pressed up, so don’t wait too long to get yours.

Futurebirds are heading to SXSW with a Flip camera in tow. Check back here after the conference for a video chronicling the band’s wild week in Austin.

Also, you can follow Futurebirds time at SXSW via Twitter (@futurebirdds).
