“There’s a Walgreen’s where there were no walls, just greenery,” sings John Wesley Harding on his latest single, “There’s A Starbucks (Where The Starbucks Used To Be.)”

“Starbucks” is the debut track from the veteran folk singer and novelist’s latest album, The Sound Of His Own Voice.

Out October 11 via Yep Roc, the new disc features guest spots from Peter Buck, Rosanne Cash, Laura Veirs, members of The Decemberists, and more.

Check out this great video, in which Harding subtly roasts the omnipresent coffee conglomerate and our fast-moving culture of consumption.
