We asked him to tell us about the video, and, being Joseph Arthur, he wrote back in poem form:
i was touring when i made it
i discovered painting apps on my ipad to keep up with painting when traveling
i had almost blue in mind when doing this one
but i also didn’t need it to be perfectly matched all the time
more just the mood and theme of the song
innocence and death
one side going forward
the other going back
one side getting old
the other getting young
one side dying
the other being born
thats the loose idea
almost blue is all about innocence and losing it
