Madi Diaz Live: Presented by Martin Guitars

Introducing The Martin Guitar video series, which showcases performances from up-and-coming and established artists using their Martin Guitars on the road and at home.

First up is hometown favorite Madi Diaz. The video contains footage from Diaz’s 2012 winter tour, leading up to the release of their killer new album Plastic Moon at the venue Revolver in Nashville.

Madi performs the album’s first single, the gorgeous “Gimme A Kiss,” with local songstress Courtney Jaye and friends providing onstage support. Band member Kyle Ryan is the one laying down the flawless harmonies.

“I had been living in Nashville writing for a few months, and I think I was just tired of digging for this deep, painful, pining love story,” Diaz has said about “Give Me A Kiss.” “Sometimes you just want to hear a make out story.”

Before that, there’s a snippet of Ryan and Diaz rocking out in the New York City subway, leading a fun, impromptu romp through The Beatles’ “Oh Darling.”

Each installment of the Martin Guitar video series will feature a different director. This one was shot by Neal Dahlgren. Dahlgren is a Nashville-based musician and filmmaker who’s done live performance and music video work for Jessie Baylin, Cadillac Black, Space Capone and Kyle Andrews.
