On October 2nd, Chicago folk-rockers The Giving Tree Band will release Vacilador, their fifth studio album. You can get yourself a free download of the album track “Cold Cold Rain” below.
The vegan-friendly band, who’ve been compared to The Band and The Avett Brothers in the past, put themselves in the mindset of some American icons when they were working on it.
“‘Cold Cold Rain’ is a dusty, down-home, cowboy clave, fast fiddle tune that tells the true tale of lost love in the American Southwest,” vocalist/banjo player Todd Fink tells American Songwriter. “We had both Willie Nelson and Clint Eastwood in mind when arranging the music for this one.”
