When people think of celebrities, they typically imagine the ugly information spread all over the tabloids; it’s rarely anything impressive. The inspiration for This Frontier Needs Heroes’ latest song, however, turns that stereotype on its head. Guitarist Brad Lauretti wrote “George Clooney” after realizing the actor’s passions beyond acting.

“I was inspired to write a song about George Clooney when I heard he was arrested for protesting the conditions in Sudan,” Lauretti said. “Of course I always liked him as an actor, but I was really impressed with his bravery, to take risks for what he believed in. I tried to think about him as a real person.  The song also deals with the dark side of Hollywood, the trappings of celebrity, and personal failures.”

The video was filmed on a friend’s roof in Brooklyn, where the duo sings the song live. Their new album, Hooky, will be released August 27.
