Song Premiere: Into It. Over It, “The Shaking Of Leaves”

Intersections is the latest album by Into It. Over It.  Frontman Evan Weiss has been kicking around Chicago’s music scene for years, collaborating with artists on a regional (Mike Kinsella) and national (Daniel Johnston) level. He gets nostalgic with Intersections, whose swirling guitars bring to mind some of the ‘90s Midwestern indie bands he grew up with.

“Brian (Deck) and I really worked on trying to create a soundscape to match the visuals in the lyrics,” he says of the album’s first single, “The Shaking of Leaves.” “I had never tried doing that with any of my songs before. It was incredibly fun, as well as challenging, to shape the music around a single guitar/vocal idea. I think you can hear how much of a blast we were having, despite the song’s serious lyrical content.”

See for yourself by streaming the song below, and look for Intersections — recorded in Chicago (where else?) and produced by frequent Iron & Wine collaborator Brian Deck — in September… right around the time that leaves start to shake.
