California’s indie-pop players Big Tree are back with My, How You’ve Grown, the follow-up to their 2012 release Little EP.

“My, How You’ve Grown is a bit of an intimate peek into our lives, as a band unit and as individuals,” says singer Kaila McIntyre-Bader. “In the past, a lot of our songs have been about falling in love or the angst of transition, but these new tunes are about growing up, committing, and being brave.”

Growing up is something that Big Tree have learned a lot about in recent years.  “After a few years of living on the East Coast and touring back and forth across the country, we finally decided to plant some roots and live in the Bay Area.  We’ve been here for almost two years now, and I think the magic of this place and the hopefulness we feel really comes across in the EP,” says Bader.

Even with a solid foundation in California, Bader says that Big Tree still share the grand sense of unease felt by most 20-somethings. “While many of the lyrics are about not knowing what’s coming next, I think the overall theme is that we’re okay with that!”
