We love The Avett Brothers here at American Songwriter — so much, in fact, that we turned our next issue over to them. As official guest editors, the Avetts have whipped up an exciting issue for you, which will hit stands not long after the the release of their much-anticipated new album Magpie and the Dandelion, out October 15.

Watch as they discuss the track “Another Is Waiting,” a meditation on the conveyor belt nature of the music business, and one of the clear highlights of Magpie and the Dandelion. “The first moment I heard that song, I immediately fell in love with it,” says bassist Bob Crawford. You may find yourself in the same boat.

There’s always so much depth, so much substance and meaning to their work. It’s like they’re telling a story through song, and it pulls me in every time. I can’t wait for this CD. Not meaning to sound like a groupy but I have it pre-ordered and I couldn’t be more escatic.
