The New Yorker-proclaimed “genius” and “downtown ringleader” frontman of Spottiswoode & His Enemies is back with a new video from S&M.  A duo album crafted with and His Enemies guitarist Riley McMahon, S&M (originally released in 2006) was nominated for an Independent Music Award in the folk album category, but due to lack of promotion, the album never took off.

Luckily, the album was granted another chance after internationally acclaimed illustrator Maria Eugenia decided to create a music video of the song, “Mummy’s Got Strange Friends.”

“It’s miraculous!” says Spottiswoode. “Maria has completely captured what it was like to grow up in my house last century! Riley really threw the kitchen sink at this track. He turned a little ditty into an opus.” Look for Spottiswoode’s new album in 2014.
