Mark your calendars: Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom will be hosting a benefit for musician, music journalist and American Songwriter scribe Andrew Leahey on December 12 and you will not want to miss it. The lineup will include Derek Hoke, Great Peacock, Nikki Lane, The Wild Feathers and Jason Isbell.

This August, Leahey was diagnosed with a life-altering brain tumor. A small acoustic neuroma was found on his hearing nerve, threatening him with a host of problems including deafness, facial paralysis, permanent balance issues and potential death. Andrew underwent a 12-hour brain surgery on Thursday, November 7th, at the Vanderbilt Hospital.
This benefit is to help assist with the very high financial cost that a complicated surgery like this brings. In addition to the door cost, there will be a silent auction and selling limited edition merch, with the goal of donating any overages to charitable organizations that help musicians in similar crises.
