CMA Songwriters Series Announces Sundance Film Festival Shows

Brandy Clark
Kicking off its tenth year, the CMA Songwriters Series announced two shows at the Sundance Film Festival. On January 22 and 23,  Brandy Clark, Brett James, Chris Stapleton, and Lee Ann Womack will be performing as part of the Sundance ASCAP Music Café’s CMA Songwriters Spotlight. “Nashville’s songwriters are among the most talented storytellers in the world and with the Sundance Film Festival being the world’s premier stage for storytellers, I cannot think of a more appropriate setting to launch the tenth year of this series,” notes CMA’s Chief Executive Officer, Sarah Trahern.

The series has travelled to cities such as London, Austin, New York, and Paris over the course of ten years. Bob DiPiero, the host of the series since its start, claims “… it is the songwriter, the ‘invisible star,’ the storytellers and song makers that the CMA Songwriters Series celebrates. We have become musical ambassadors, spreading the hillbilly Gospel.” For more information about the series, including upcoming dates, check out their website.
