The Artist: Scottish indie-folker Charlie Clark
Who’s That: Clark helped fill out The Reindeer Section, a Scottish supergroup featuring members of Snow Patrol, Belle & Sebastian, Teenage Fanclub and The Vaselines. He also used to be play in the guitar-pop band Astrid.
Fun Fact: The cave in this cinematic, Western-themed video was also used on the 1960s show Batman for the entrance to the Batcave. Holy highlanders, Batman!
Songwriter Says: “‘Don’t Let Me Down’ is definitely the most positive and hopeful song from the EP I released last year, and was one of the first songs I wrote for the record,” Clark tells us. “It’s a song about freedom of fear and genuine acceptance. This is the third in a series of five videos shot by director Paul Orehovec. ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ is the first to have a solid narrative as the other videos have contained themes but are a little more surreal. Paul came up with the concept for this video and it was shot over three days in Laurel Canyon and at The Bronson Caves in Griffith Park.”
