BIRTHDATE: Trent-5/7/75   Shellie 5/6/80

HOMETOWN: Trent-Amarillo, TX   Shellie-Waco, TX

CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, TN

AMBITIONS:  Trent – write songs until I die, become a better chef, and be the best dad ever    Shellie – give Trent a reason to write songs until he dies, eat his food, be the best mommy ever

TURN-OFFS: mean people and stinky feet

TURN-ONS: good food, good people, good conversation

DREAM GIG:  playing Carnegie Hall and/or Radio City Music Hall

FAVORITE LYRIC:  Trent – Soooo many choices.  Really tough question.  In John Mayer’s “Say What You Need to Say” the line, “Walking like a one man army, fighting with the shadows in your head” was really meaningful during a certain time in my life.       Shellie – Oh heavens.  That’s so hard!!!  I’m going to have to go with a song my mom sang to me when I was a little girl and now I sing nightly to my son.  The song is “I See the Moon, the Moon Sees Me” and my favorite line is at the end, “Once had a heart that was so true, but now it’s gone from me to you.  Take care of it as I have done, for you have two and I have none.”

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW:  Trent – my wife.   She’s the good kind of crazy for jumping into this crazy music business with me.    Shellie – I’m going to have to agree.  I’m pretty crazy.

SONG I WISH I WROTE:  Patty Griffin’s “Heavenly Day”

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH:  Trent –  Michael Jordan, Paul McCartney, Patty Griffin, C.S. Lewis, Chuck Yeager.      Shellie – Kristen Wiig, Amy Poehler, Amy Grant, Beth Moore, Jimmy Fallon.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE:   Trent – Lindsey Buckingham     Shellie – I was in 3rd grade and it has stuck with me: Amy Grant

I WROTE THIS SONG: This is one of our favorite songs! Shellie and I truly believe that our relationship with each other and our faith in God makes us much stronger versions of ourselves. That belief is the core of “Stronger”.

There’s also a line in the song that says, “So many things I can’t wait to see. Like two of us turning into three.”  I wrote this line several months before we found out that we were expecting.  Now with our little man by our side, we have found a whole new level of strength.
