ARTIST: Morgan Bosman

SONG:Notice Me

BIRTHDATE: March 9th 1993

HOMETOWN: St. Louis, MO

CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, TN

AMBITIONS: I’d love to be able to travel the world singing and experience different cultures. It would also be great to use what comes of being an artist to help out my favorite organizations such as St. Louis’ Hearts & Beats and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

TURN-OFFS: Soggy socks and/or shoes… (like when you’re walking outside and it starts raining, but you’re not wearing boots and your feet get all squishy)… it makes me sad.

TURN-ONS: A funky bass line

DREAM GIG: My dream gig would be to perform at the AfroPunk Music Festival with Erykah Badu and Janelle Monáe!

FAVORITE LYRIC: “As” by Stevie Wonder // Verse 1

As around the sun the earth knows she’s revolving

And the rosebuds know to bloom in early May

Just as hate knows love’s the cure

You can rest your mind assure

That I’ll be loving you always

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: I think everyone’s a little bit crazy…

SONG I WISH I WROTE: “I Have Nothing” sung by the incredible Whitney Houston

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: I would just like to have a spaghetti and Redbox night with Elton John, Beyoncé, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Lianne La Havas.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: A couple of friends and I went to see Janelle Monáe at The Ryman last year (the Electric Lady tour). She puts on such a great show! Her band is awesome and she looked and sounded FLAWLESS. At one point in the middle of the show, she had us all quiet down and she tip toed through the isles just inches away from her fans for the heck of it. It was hysterical and amazing at the same time, haha. My friends and I stayed after the show and got to meet the BGVs and the guitarist. We tried to meet Janelle, but that didn’t happen. One day!

I WROTE THIS SONG: I wrote “Notice Me” a couple of years back about this boy I was crushing on who did not notice my existence. At all. I was way too awkward to talk to him, so I just wrote a song about it. Later, he even heard it and told me he liked the song! It’s hilarious because, of course, he had no clue the song was about him. He’ll never know, haha! But, I guess “Notice Me” lived up to its title.
