Record Store Day is on its way, and with it comes a slew of exclusive releases. One that we’re excited about is a cover of Bob Welch’s “Sentimental Lady” by indie rockers The Autumn Defense, led by multi-instrumentalists John Stirratt and Pat Sansone (both members of Wilco).

The track will be released as part of a 7 inch split single between The Autumn Defense and  singer/songwriter Josh Rouse, who covers Lindsey Buckingham’s “Trouble.”

If you can’t wait until April 19 to hear the cover, you’re in luck: you can check out a video of The Autumn Defense playing “Sentimental Lady” at SXSW below.

“Sentimental Lady has been a staple in the Autumn Defense set for quite a while,” says Stirratt. “Pat and I both are fans of this era Fleetwood Mac and Bob Welch, and the song strikes a chord in people when we play it live.

“We thought we should record it for some purpose, and when the guys at Yep Roc suggested a split single with Josh Rouse, we thought of including it. The fact that Josh does ‘trouble’ by Lindsay Buckingham, makes it Fleetwood Mac-centric.”
