Video Premiere: Shannon Labrie, “You Found Me”

shannon labrie 2014
The Artist: Nashville singer-songwriter Shannon Labrie
The Song:  “You Found Me”
Fun Fact:  Labrie wrote the song specifically for the soundtrack to the film Make Your Move, a dance-centric love story starring Derek Hough of Dancing with the Stars and K-pop sensation BoA.
Songwriter Says: “It was an amazing experience to adapt a song to a screenplay,” Labrie tells us. “I’d had the melody and a few lyrics for about a year before I got called to work on the project. When I found out they wanted to see what I could come up with, I knew what song I was going to use. I worked on it for about a day and sent it in. It was pretty thrilling to get the call that they wanted to use the song in the movie. Once they started the choreography for the scene, I got in the studio and started adapting my song to their dance. Derek Hough and BoA really created a beautiful moment. I have to say that working on this movie forced me to step outside of my normal songwriting box. I would and hope to do it again in the future!”
