Rachel James is the kind of artist who tries to encompass the human experience in her work. When Rachel recorded her symphonic pop EP Edge of Me, she intended it to be more than just music. She designed the EP to accompany a variety of artists working in different mediums, creating an experience that both explores the beauty of humanity and celebrates artists that often remain under the radar.

DREAM GIG: Opening for Muse

FAVORITE LYRIC: I have too many favorites, but this is just gorgeous by Kris Kristofferson –

Because life is a song for the dying to sing, And it’s got to have feeling to mean anything, And a man can get by without silver or gold, With bread for the body and song for the soul

I’m living my life by the lesson I’ve learned

And not looking back at the bridges I’ve burned

Cause the time that we travel from cradle to grave

Was meant to be spent and not meant to be saved

And I know there are some who will say I’m a fool

But I don’t give a damn for the people that do

Cause if down in a dungeon is where they belong

Well, that’s their misfortune and none of my own

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: My grandmother.  Boy did she know how to live.

SONG I WISH I WROTE: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Bono, Mother Theresa while she was here, Jerry Seinfeld, Meryl Streep, Abraham Lincoln (I WISH!)

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: I saw Joe Cocker and The Steve Miller Band at Red Rocks years ago.  Blew me away.  Live is a close second.  Wow.

I WROTE THIS SONG:  Written more than I have counted up now.  Really proud of the work done with Edge of Me, Slo Mo, Fall Down, and Catch Me If You Can, among others.
