After studying music at Millikin University, the pieces began to fall in place and Stacey’s musical career took her on travels to Italy, China, and throughout the USA, only to find herself settling down in Music City. Stacey’s second album, Fables ,was recorded in a home studio and then released earlier this year in February.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Paul Simon on the beach at Hangout Fest. Tom Petty is a very close second (also at Hangout).
I WROTE THIS SONG: In a hotel room in Vicksburg, MS. I went down there for work and brought my uke along. It felt strange traveling alone there and I was ready to get back to Nashville. I was reminded of my original hometown, Decatur, Illinois, and how ready I was to move to Nashville after I finished school. So I started writing about the journey someone takes to find the hometown that suites them best. My main message in the song is the line, “Do you choose your hometown or does it choose you?” Some people travel, some people settle, some people find what they are looking for, some people don’t. But you have a choice to feel at home or not. And feeling at “home” doesn’t just mean finding a city you enjoy. “Home” can be a person, hobby, lifestyle, pet, etc. It was one of those rewarding quick writes that felt extremely natural to get down on paper.
