Daily Discovery: Hunter and the Bear, “Like a Runaway”

Hunter & The Bear (1)

Videos by American Songwriter

ARTIST: Hunter and the Bear

SONG: “Like a Runaway”

BIRTHDATE: September 2012

HOMETOWN: Glasgow

CURRENT LOCATION: Aberdeen (on tour)

AMBITIONS: Write great music. And world domination. Or just to own a dog…

TURN-OFFS: Milk

TURN-ONS: Guitar

DREAM GIG: Probably something cliché like Pyramid Stage Glastonbury, but we’d love to play anywhere in America. That would be a dream come true for sure.

FAVORITE LYRIC: Impossible question. Best I can do is say I’m currently really loving Hozier’s writing. There’s a lyric which goes “Why were you digging? What did you bury? Before those hands pulled me from the earth…” That really got me thinking. So much mystery in one line. I like that.

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: Got to go out to our producer, Blowfish!

SONG I WISH I WROTE: “Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts”

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Depends if we’re only including living people. I will presume that we are, in which case I’ll say; Justin Vernon, Jimmy Page, Joe Walsh, David Attenborough and Gregory Alan Isakov. Would make for a wild night.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Saw the Stones at Glasto. That was pretty hard to beat. Saw Bon Iver supported by the staves in Glasgow. Also incredible. Too many to choose from. Too many still to see.

I WROTE THIS SONG: Like A Runaway (with Will Irvine)
