A couple years back, a newly-reuinted Violent Femmes announced they would be recording new music following a short tour and a couple of festival dates, including a triumphant performance at that year’s Coachella. Today, the first track from those recording sessions has been released. “Love Love Love Love Love” is the first single off Happy New Year, a four track EP the band will release on Record Store Day (April 18).

They recorded the EP in Tasmania on New Year’s Eve of 2013 with new drummer Brian Vigilone (Dresden Dolls). The Milwaukee band hasn’t released new music since 2000, when they put out their eighth studio album Freak Magnet.
