ARTIST: Beth Bombara

SONG: Thunder & Rain

BIRTHDATE: 8/4/1983

HOMETOWN: Grand Rapids, MI

CURRENT LOCATION: St. Louis, MO

AMBITIONS: hike the Grand Canyon top to bottom, learn to distill & age my own bourbon, remain gainfully unemployed for the rest of my life

TURN-OFFS: Dreaming but not working for it. Fear of failure. New car smell.

TURN-ONS: Thinkers. Doers. A willingness to die trying. Vintage vibes. Campfires.

DREAM GIG: I’d share the stage at Red Rocks with Neil Young any day. Just waiting for that call.

FAVORITE LYRIC: The shutter clicked, but the film did not go round / I touch these strings but cannot touch the sound. -Nada Surf, “The Film Did Not Go ‘Round”

SONG I WISH I WROTE: “We’re All In This Together” by Old Crow Medicine Show

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Debbie Harry, Ann Peebles, Amy Schumer, Chrissy Hynde, Anthony Bourdain

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Don’t know about favorite ever, but I recently saw Ryan Adams at the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis. Along with it being a fantastic show in a beautiful venue, I went by myself and ended up sitting in the middle of a huge extended family where the dad got super drunk and started pawning extra drinks off on me. Also, the mom tried to hook me up with her son. Nice try, mom.

I WROTE THIS SONG: This year has involved a lot of traveling for me, and even more traveling for Kit (my better half and bandmate). That’s been the main inspiration for writing this song. He was working with another band and would be gone for as long as a month at a time. The lyrics sort of capture my experience going through those times apart, because in addition to us being apart, they were also some of the toughest times we’ve been through together. Our lives were in a big transition, and it wasn’t easy.
