ARTIST: Chris Jamison

SONG: “The Mockingbird Song”

BIRTHDATE: 8.28.83

HOMETOWN: Texas

CURRENT LOCATION: Asheville, NC

AMBITIONS: To live my life as an artist, and have my life be my greatest piece of art.

TURN-OFFS: Negativity

TURN-ONS: positivity

DREAM GIG: how do you get to Carnegie Hall?

FAVORITE LYRIC: “and i will never grow so old again” …from “sweet thing” -Van Morrison

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: Thats a tough one..but i’d have to say the “crazy” people are those that live their life as if money could some how give them happiness…those that postpone joy and inspiration for some other more convenient time.

SONG I WISH I WROTE: Too many to even wrap my head around, but for this lets say “Poncho and Lefty”

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Townes Van Zandt, John Steinbeck, George Carlin, Stanley Kubrick, Lowell George. ..oh, what a dinner that would be.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Either Leonard Cohen at Royal Albert Hall in London on his comeback tour..singing from his knees and from the bottom of his soul…or Steely Dan at Jazz Fest a few years back-they killed it, and their drummer could hardly walk after that 1.5 hour set..he poured it all out.

I WROTE THIS SONG: This song was written contemplating becoming a father..trying to come to terms with the passage of time, and the feeling that i am still very much a child ..In writing “The Mockingbird Song” i was trying to find the common thread that linked a father with the child he once was…the dreams may change but the path is still that endless vanishing point in the distance.
