TIDAL’s Royalty Payments Almost Double Spotify’s

According to a report by Digital Music News, Jay Z’s newly-founded streaming streaming service TIDAL’s royalty payouts are nearly double those of Spotify’s. TIDAL pays 1.2 cents per stream to rights owners versus Spotify’s measly .72 cents.

Both companies keep a cut of the profits earned, and while Jay Z claims TIDAL only keeps 25 percent, DMN’s report seems to indicate that the company actually keeps 30 percent.
