Though he’s said in the past that Gorillaz were done making pop records, Damon Albarn has confirmed that the band is working on Plastic Beach, the followup to 2005’s Demon Days. The album boasts an eclectic guest list: Lou Reed, Mos Def, Barry Gibb, and Bobby Womack. Albarn tells The Guardian the album is the “the most pop record I’ve ever made.”

Despite rumors that they’d been waylaid by “artistic differences,” The Strokes will join Jay-Z as the headliners for the 2010 Isle of Whight Festival. The June 12 gig will be the first time the band, currently drafting their fourth album, have played since 2006.

M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel will return as She & Him in 2010. “I have a new [She & Him] record coming out in the spring,” Zooey Deschanel tells MTV News. “It’s official. It’s done and being released in the spring. And we’re going to go on tour.” The album is the followup to the band’s critically-acclaimed debut, 2008’s She & Him Volume One.

Score some acid and buy a plane ticket to Oklahoma City. If this poster is to be believed, The Flaming Lips will perform Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon in it’s entirety during their gig at OC’s Cox Center on New Year’s Eve. “All humans are urged to attend.”

  1. Flaming Lips show sounds amazing shame I live in the UK, hopefully they’ll record it for a live DVD. Henry Rollins and Peaches are also special guests, I really want to hear what their contributions will be.
